Israel’s Defense Ministry delivered on Wednesday an Iron Dome missile defense system to the US military. A second battery will be handed over at a later date. The advanced air defense system will be used to protect US troops serving in high-risk zones overseas.
Earlier this year, Israel upgraded its Iron Dome batteries to deal with more complex attack scenarios. The system intercepted 100 percent of rockets fired during test sessions. The IDF is now working to modify Iron Dome’s software so different batteries can communicate with each other.
