Israeli, US Military Chiefs Speak As Iran Rumors Grow

All eyes on Iran: IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi spoke via video conference with Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The two military leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, TV journalist Or Heller reported.

No further information was provided at this time.

Notably, this is the second conversation between the military chiefs in the past three weeks. The IDF did not provide details about the previous talk either, only saying that Kochavi and Milley spoke about “current security issues” in the region.

Israel and the US are planning to step up their moves against Iran in the coming weeks, Channel 13 reported Friday. Jerusalem and Washington are not necessarily coordinating a military strike, and may focus on diplomatic pressure coupled with covert operations, he said.

The latest developments follows media speculation that President Donald Trump may be planning to strike Iran, with or without Israel. According to another report, the IDF could attack Hezbollah’s missile workshops in Lebanon before the end of the year.

Last month, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz headed to Washington to address urgent Iran-related issues with senior US officials. The brief trip was designed to coordinate joint moves against Tehran and discuss new intelligence and developments pertaining to Iran, according to the N12 news channel.
