Israel Fears Hezbollah Strike to Derail Lebanon Talks

IDF on alert for Hezbollah attack: The IDF is concerned that Hezbollah will launch an attack to disrupt the Israel-Lebanon talks on their maritime border.

The historic negotiations are scheduled to start Wednesday, and the army is taking steps to prepare for Hezbollah efforts to target soldiers or civilians near the Lebanon border fence, Channel 13 reported.

Israeli experts say that Hezbollah is interested in a deal between Israel and Lebanon that will allow the group to seize future gas profits. But Hezbollah is also unhappy that Lebanese and Israeli officials will be in close contact.

On Tuesday, military journalist Amir Bohbot toured the northern border and warned about potential “surprises” from Hezbollah to disrupt the Lebanon talks.
